#499 Tysse Panorama Cabin
Enjoy the gorgeous view to Osterfjord from the window or the terrace at Osterøy Panorama Cabin. The area is great for hiking. There are plenty of mountain tops, some more than 800 AMSL.
You can also go north through the valley to the remote farm of Toskedal. From there, a road and a bridge takes you to the mainland on the eastern side. From there you can catch a bus back to Tysse. Osterøy is the biggest island in Norway which is all surrounded by mainland.
The drive to Bergen takes about an hour. Driving to Arna and taking the train from there to Bergen will save you parking problems.
Voss can be reached in less than two hours. The Bergen area is bustling with activities for tourists, especially in summer. Make a boat trip around the island on a genuine steamer, or try the the old steam railway from to Garnes to Midttun.
Welcome to Osterøy, a miniature of Norway.
